A Mariana Tek alternative for boutique studio groups
Slate Fit is booking, memberships and the front desk for pilates, cycling, yoga and barre studios, built for owners who run one room today and several locations tomorrow. If Mariana Tek is on your shortlist, this page sets out what Slate Fit does, so you can compare the two on the same questions.
The facts
What Mariana Tek publishes about plans and onboarding
From Mariana Tek’s own pricing page, as read on October 8, 2026:
- Mariana Tek lists three plans, Core, Core + Growth and Full Growth Bundle, without published prices; each one asks you to book a demo. Source.
- Mariana Tek says its typical onboarding process lasts between five and eight weeks. Source.
Slate Fit does not publish a price list either: what you pay depends on how many locations you run and roughly how many members you have, and we go through it on a call.
How Slate Fit pricing worksThe floor
Spot booking from a plan of your room
Every room is laid out once as a grid: the rows, the gap by the door, the pillar and the podium. Members book the exact bike, reformer or barre spot they want from that plan.
- A layout is published, never edited in place, so a member’s booked spot cannot move under them when you change the room.
- Each spot is sold once, and the database itself refuses a second booking of the same spot in the same class.
- Spot types carry their own credit cost, so the front row or the tower can cost more, and some spots can be for members only.
- Open-floor classes, such as mat or yoga, run with a headcount in the same timetable.
Groups
Staff access by location and region
Staff roles are granted for the whole business, a region, or one studio, and a manager who asks to change a studio they do not run is refused outright. Group your studios into regions, and a regional manager covers every studio in theirs, including the next one you open.
Memberships can cover every location or a chosen few, and a cancellation policy set once for the business can be changed for the one studio, class type or single class that needs it, with staff able to see which rule applied.
Multi-location studio softwareYour members
Your own app, powered by Slate Fit
Your members get the member app in your studio’s own name, powered by Slate Fit, on iPhone and Android. They book their spot, join a waitlist, check in and cancel from it, and the emails they receive come from your own verified domain.
Money
Card payments in your business’s name
Card payments from every location land in a Stripe account in your business’s name, with your own Stripe dashboard. Members, their saved cards and their subscriptions are created on that account. Cards are collected by Stripe, never by our servers.
A member’s balance is worked out from every credit they were given and every class they took, so it is always the sum of what happened rather than a number somebody typed.
What you sell
Memberships, packs and guest passes
Sell a monthly membership with a fresh class allowance each period, or a class pack with an expiry date or none. A membership can carry guest passes, so a regular can bring a friend to the class they are already in. Each product can be sold for every location or only the ones you choose, which is how a studio group keeps a flagship-only membership apart from one that works everywhere.
The timetable
A timetable you set up once per room
Set up each repeating class once, with its room, its instructor and its time, and the week builds itself. Change a repeating class later and Slate Fit shows which booked classes it disagrees with before anything moves, so nobody arrives for a class that quietly changed under them.
Each location keeps its own rooms and its own timetable, while the members, products and business-wide rules stay shared across all of them.
Day to day
Waitlists, late cancellations and the door
- When a spot opens, the next member is offered it or booked straight in, whichever you choose. By default the queue stops moving in the last half hour before class.
- Members are told a cancellation is late before they confirm it, and that a fee may apply. Fees go to your Stripe account, and a member who owes one is reminded if it is still unpaid.
- One roster per class, with each member’s spot beside their name: check in, mark the no-shows, undo a mis-tap.
- Recurring classes hold their local time across the clock changes in March and November.

- A manager asks to change a studio they do not run. What happens?
- You move a bike on the floor plan. What happens to the member already booked on it?
- A member cancels inside the late window. What are they told before they confirm?
- You open a new location in a region. Who can manage it on day one?
- A member with only a class pack tries to book a members-only spot. What are they told?
